Advocate Anand Mathur draws up a will for his client, while reading the novel "Godfather", and erroneously makes out the will with a provision that the beneficiary must be a criminal don in order to inherit the billions of rupees. The beneficiary is a bachelor named Rahul Bhargav, who wants no part of being a Don, criminal or anything of that sort. His Police Inspector girlfriend, Kanchan Dhillon, has set her sights on the billions, and makes him change his mind. She assures him that she will use her influence and ensure that he gets to be the Don in no time at all, little realizing that this will change their lives forever, and make them captives in neighbouring and hostile Pakistan.

David D'Mello lives a middle-classed lifestyle in Bangalore along with his wife, Mary, and a son, Bunty, and is a jockey in the Bangalore Turf Club. He has a run-in with a wealthy stud farm owner, Gomango, who kills him. David's death also kills his widower friend, Balram, compelling his son, Bhima, to move in with Mary. She gives birth to a daughter, and makes a living sewing and stitching clothes, while Bunty and Bhima wash cars and do small chores. Years later both Bhima and Bunty have grown up, work on a stud farm, and look after a pony, Sikander. Bunty is in love with Jenny and wants to marry her, but her dad, William, will only give his blessings after Bunty accumulates some wealth. In order to get wealthy quickly both Bhima and Bunty decide to rob Gomango - and set off a chain of events that will endanger and change their lives forever.

Grey-haired, comically parsimonious widower Gokulchand lives a middle-class lifestyle in Agra, India, runs a shop selling essential food items, along with his sons, Manohar and Kishore. While Manohar is employed and married to Devki, and has two children, Roopa and Munna, Kishore is studying Engineering. Gokulchand would like to get rich and enjoy life to it's fullest, in order to this he invests in a lottery - which he does not win - but ends up inheriting his brother, Nihalchand's estate and wealth - over 10 Lakh Rupees. The family move into a palatial mansion, Manohar quits his job, and Gokulchand closes down his shop. Shortly thereafter Gokulchand announces that he wants to go to Kashmir for a holiday. Kishore is in love with Rita and would like to get married to her. The family know that Gokulchand will never approve of this as Rita comes from a poor family and lives with her widowed aunt, so they decide to get them engaged in Gokulchand's absence.

Irfan Khan Iliyazi, the son of a railway coolie, was born in Bombay, who started his career as a pick-pocket. At the age of 17, he killed his opponent and scattered his body parts on nearby railway tracks. He then went on to become an gangster as well as started dealing in drugs, narcotics, and acquiring multiple identities/passports from Mumbai, Indore, and Sultanate of Oman. On August 10 the Mumbai Police had him cornered at the airport while attempting to flee to Dubai, but Irfan escapes and re-locates to Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. Once there, he plans his escape by disguising himself and arranging the hijacking of an Indian Airlines plane to Kathmandu, Nepal, and thence making his way to Dubai. The Indian Police announce they will reward anyone who apprehends this fugitive dead or alive. Everything goes according to plan - until Irfan gets on the plane.
